Default behaviour in Castled is to write the engagement events back to your data warehouse periodically in batches. You can optionally stream engagement events back to your warehouse using a data streaming service provider such as AWS Data Firehose.

Configuring AWS Data Firehose

Navigate to Settings > Streams. Select Stream Config tab Please provide the AWS Access Key Id and AWS Access Key Secret of the IAM user who has the priveleges to write to the stream. Stream configuration

Channel Event Stream

Once the AWS Data Firehose config is successfully setup, navigate to the Channel Event Streams tab. You can enable streaming for the messaging channels that are relevant for you and assign a stream from the dropdown (this is a list of already available streams in your Firehose account). Make sure you have already created the stream within your AWS Firehose console and assigned the destination table in your warehouse to the stream. All the engagement events for that messaging channel will eventually lands on this table. Schema of the destination table depends on the channel. Please see below for details.

Push Notification Stream

Create a destination table at your warehouse for push events. You can use the following query to create the table.

When creating the stream within AWS Data Firehose console, select this table as the downstream table. Firehose database configuration Enable push notification event streaming and select the stream to write the push events to and finally save the changes. Stream configuration
